The duo Bárbara Wagner & Benjamin de Burca is transforming the Brazilian Pavilion in 58. Biennale di Venezia (May 11th - Nov 24th) into a huge installation for the film 'Swinguerra'.
'Swinguerra' was specially commissioned for the ocasion. The work is a hybrid form of a musical documentary that creates an ambiguous space where fictional and documentary dimensions are blended, creating a third territory of language.
Wagner was born in Brazil and De Burca is from Germany. They both live and work in Recife, Brazil, and are represented by Fortes D'Aloia & Gabriel.
Currently the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam is also exhibiting a video installation by the duo. 'YOU ARE SEEING THINGS' is on view until June 16th. The show is currated by Martijn van Nieuwenhuyzen, which came to Brazil in 2018 to participate in Latitude Art Immersion Trip ArtRio + 33ª Bienal.
