SIM Galeria
SIM Galeria was founded in 2011, in Curitiba, State capital of Paraná, intended as a space for disseminating and divulging Contemporary Art, and as a way for contributing even more towards the inclusion of the city of Curitiba in the cultural scene of the country.
We view Art as bearer of freedom and possibilities for experimentation, and, as such, we value and seek to offer exhibitions that contemplate the most diverse forms of expression, such as painting, sculpture, video, installation and performance.
Since its foundation, eleven (11) solo and group shows were held at the gallery. Some relying on specific and ephemeral projects and installations during the exhibition. Some shows had as both participants and curators the following names: Agnaldo Farias, Arthur do Carmo, Denise Gadelha, Eder Chiodetto, Felipe Scovino, Fernando Cocchiarale and Marcelo Campos.
Following the planning of the gallery to effect the internationalization of Brazilian art and artists represented by us, in the year 2012 we began an exchange program between artists. According to our planning, we aim to achieve greater participation in international art fairs in 2013, starting with Arco in Madrid, where we had a project - subsidized by ABACT - that was selected by the evaluating committee.
In 2013 we have ongoing projects for the entry of new international names in exhibitions to be displayed at the gallery and in specific projects conceived for art fairs. The German KatinkaPislcheurconducted an artist residency in Brazil resulting in the 25º 25’ S 49º 15’ W / 52º 30’ N 5º 56’ W exhibition in which she took part at the gallery in April.
