Latitude supports a record number of galleries in London during Frieze Art Fair 2013. There were 11 galleries in total, being 6 at Frieze Art Fair, 4 at Frieze Masters and one at Moving Image, especialized in video art.
Putting constant effort on expanding the number of participant galleries in the international market, Latitude is happy to announce the debut of Galeria Jaqueline Martins, Galeria Berenice Arvani and Galeria Pilar in the Londoner market.
Besides the strong Brazilian presence at the fair, Brazil was highlighted with the major retrospective show of Swiss-Brazilian artist, Mira Schendel, at Tate Modern, produced in partnership with Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo. Latitude promoted a guided tour with curator Tanya Barson at the show. She has been a constant presence in Brazil in previous editions of Art Immersion Trips and this show is a result of years of research.
Latitude also promoted a second event focused on content: a debate on the art market confronting Brazil and the United Arab Emirates, chaired by Anders Petterson, head of ArtTactic. The experts Dr. Ana Letícia Fialho, researcher and consultant for Latitude and Alia Al Senussi, curator, art consultant and collector provided the public with a rich group of information on the respective markets. The debate took place in space kindly provided by David Roberts Foundation. Latitude thanks Vincent Honore, director of DRAF and participant of Art Immersion Trip SP -Arte + Inhotim 2013 for the generous offer.
