Through a partnership between the Associação Brasileira de Arte Contemporânea - ABACT (Brazilian Association of Contemporary Art) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), Latitude - Platform for Brazilian Art Galleries Abroad has been supporting the participation of Brazilian art galleries in international art fairs for over ten years.
On February, Latitude announced the participation of ten Brazilian member galleries presenting over forty artists across at ARCOmadrid and JustMAD.
At the General section at ARCOmadrid Anita Schwartz Galeria de Arte brought works by Cadu, Ivens Machado, Lenora de Barros, Ivens Machado and Wanda Pimentel, and Casa Triângulo presented eleven artists including Sandra Cinto and Vânia Mignone. At Pabellón 7, Fortes D’Aloia & Gabriel showed works by seven artists including the duo that represents the Brazilian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale 2019, Barbara Wagner & Benjamin de Burca. Cavalo and Marilia Razuk had their booths at Pabellón 9, while Galeria Luisa Strina showed a duo presentation of Anna Maria Maiolino and Magdalena Jitrik at Dialogos. Vermelho presented Cinthia Marcelle and Carla Zaccagnini at the Solo/Duo section and at the curated emerging galleries section Opening, Sé Galeria showed works by Dalton Paula and Michel Zózimo.
At JustMAD, Madrid’s emerging art fair, Via Thorey brought works by Ernesto Bonato and 55SP by Alberto Simon, Hugo Frasa, Fabia Schnoor and Marlene Stamm.
